MEET NOMINEE 2 OF 6 IN THE UPCOMING HRD OF THE YEAR CATEGORY – MILKA HADIDA
Congratulations on your nomination.
Milka Hadida is a volunteer at the Kenya Red Cross. She is a child rights advocate for girls, a motivational speaker, and a volunteer. She collects sanitary pads from family, friends, and donors and distributes them to poor girls in her native Tana River County using a bicycle.
She won the Red Cross Florence Nightingale Medal – meant to recognize nurses or nursing aides who bring positive change in the community through their courage, hard work, and devotion.
Milka uses media platforms and community sensitization meetings to create awareness of taboos that hinder the rights of young girls. She also engages prominent women leaders to mentor young women as ambassadors of change in their communities.
Milka loves her work because seeing young girls enjoying their rights and expressing themselves brings her joy as a mother, compelling her to make a difference for young girls within her community.
Milka believes in humanity, and Mother Teresia is her role model.
